THE DEVIL'S MYSTERIOUS DOOR
This mysterious stone door is also called in the Aymara language ARAMU MURU or AJAYU MARKA (village of the soul) is a historical-mythological place located in the district of Ilave 70 kilometers from the city of Puno (1,102 km from Lima) very close to the mythological Lake Titicac.
This strange door, 7 meters long and 7 meters wide, is considered by many to be an enigmatic interdimensional portal built by strange hands, a kind of "Stargate" surrounded by mysterious legends and its special energy attracts certain visitors in search of mystical experiences.
One of the legends tells the story of an Inca priest named Aramu Muru who, upon seeing his village conquered by the Spanish conquistadors, managed to escape through this portal using a golden disc (key of the gods) to activate the portal and disappear forever. It is also believed that the small door represents access for mortal souls, while the larger portal serves as access for the deities.
The place is special for lovers of mysticism, meditation, and the sighting of paranormal phenomena. There is another legend that tells of how the area was haunted by demons until a priest, using his power, closed the portal to save his people. Many visitors claim that there is a great energy here where one can recharge their vitality, but they also warn of risks of madness or disappearances
This unique stone structure is carved from living sandstone and is located in a stone forest called the Valley of the Spirits. The indigenous communities that live around it consider this place sacred and perform rituals and offerings to Pachamama (Mother Earth) there. It's only a 30-minute walk from the road to this portal, and the entrance fee is 10 soles (it's recommended to go with someone). The best time to visit is from March to November, a period when there is no rain in the area.
