      El sitio arqueológico CHAVIN DE HUANTAR es uno de los complejos ceremoniales y religiosos mas antiguos de América, fue construido por la enigmática civilización CHAVIN entre los siglos III a I antes de cristo  y ha sido declarado como patrimonio de la humanidad por la UNESCO el año 1,985.        Local people tell several legends, the most well-known being that in time immemorial, a battle took place here between the gods and humans.
